Duane St. Pierre maintains a diverse law practice, representing clients in the areas of divorce and family law, small business, probate, trusts and estate planning, litigating sophisticated property and family law issues at the trial and appellate court levels.
Leaving the farmlands of central Illinois, Duane graduated in 1973 from Southern Illinois University with Bachelor of Science degrees in both accounting and finance. After a few years of practice as a Certified Public Accountant, Duane was awarded the Juris Doctor (law degree) from the Illinois Institute of Technology-Chicago Kent College of Law. Duane is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and the U.S. Supreme Court. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, the Cook County Bar Association and the DuPage County Bar Association.
Having received the coveted American Jurisprudence Award in criminal procedure while in law school, Duane pursued his interests in the field of forensic accounting and investigative techniques, surveillance and security. Duane's years of experience as a licensed private investigator has proven to be a very valuable asset often called upon and applied to resolve current client matters.
Because of his accounting and legal background and sensitivity toward the vulnerable and unprotected, Duane was often appointed guardian ad litem by the Cook County Probate Court judges to represent minor children, the elderly and disabled persons.
He established his law firm in Palatine, Illinois, representing individuals, families and businesses primarily in Cook County, DuPage County, Lake County, Kane County and McHenry County.
